- The Olympics have set the dates for the Mountain biking mens and womens cross-country, so put the 22nd and 23rd of August in your diaries. The XC course has to follow these UCI rules
- Looks like mountain biking has been downgraded from an extreme sport see this Extreme sports blog for details. Maybe we should all be taking up another sport to keep up our street cred – perhaps extreme ironing would be a good place to start.
- Mountain biking in Afan Forest, near Port Talbot looked like the last chance for Wales to host the mountain biking Olympic event in 2012, unfortunately this isn’t going to be the case, with Lord Coe looking towards Essex instead.
