- bike repair stands -

So I was thinking that it really is about time to get a decent bike repair stand. In the past, I’ve just coped. You know when you’ve either flipped the bike or hung it from a ledge. To be fair it works, it isn’t luxury but at least you are able to get your bike back on the trails again. Anyway, I thought about what was important in a repair stand (for me). So here goes…

  1. It needs to be sturdy, fear of the whole thing falling over won’t cut it anymore
  2. I want all my tools close to hand. (those trays alway look a little contrived
  3. I want to be able to work in the sun
  4. Don’t want to damage the bike in the clamp

Found a great article linked from Blue Collar Mountain Biking which looks like it does a fine job. I’ll keep you posted on what we’ve decided to get. At the moment, it’s a toss up between a sturdy clamp attached between to garage doors (sounds strange but reckon it will work a treat) and building the one in the link above.
