I've been up to a load of teccie stuff this week, I've managed to successfuly get slideshow pro director working on the website.  I had to buy access from a MySQL server from Fasthosts though.  This is going to be a really useful tool for showing all the photos in one common location.  As I managed to use this tool I felt it was going to be useful to have a tool for managing the database, as there this nothing to stop me from putting a load of other tables in here with bits and bobs as and when I find a need to use them.  DBManager seems to be as good a tool as any to use.  I really need to get my head around database management.  I will be using more and more over time!

I've decided that I just need to get the site up and running and then figure the exact style later.  There is so much work to do here, but if I keep the HTML simple and compliant it should mean that things fit together nicely later
